My guilty weekend pleasure

I should have been reading. I should have been writing. At the very least, I should have been cleaning.

Guess what I did instead? I made two cardboard, felt-covered dolls for my granddaughters, 6 and 3, who stay at my house a couple of times a week.

My husband thought I'd lost my mind as I sat on the couch snipping and cutting, my fingers tacky with glue. Despite the mess, I came up with two sets of clothes, shoes and purses.

I got the idea from Pinterest, a wooden doll with clothes my sister had stashed and a wooden doll with clothes and shoes I'd found at a yard sale.

My activities this weekend prove a point. As the old Cyndi Lauper song goes--girls just want to have fun.
